How a maker earns the mark

Five steps from kitchen table to shelf.

  1. Step 1: Business setup

    An active Texas business registration (DBA or LLC) and a Sales Tax Permit.

  2. Step 2: Compliance

    The permits your craft needs: Food Handler Certificate, Texas Cottage Food Law compliance, or commercial permits.

  3. Step 3: Insurance

    Active general liability insurance coverage.

  4. Step 4: Masterclasses

    Made in Laredo™ modules on commercial scaling, safe sampling, labeling, financial management and retail strategy.

  5. Step 5: Verification

    A final review that your products are crafted or produced in Laredo.
